A NEW CHAPTER FOR BUSINESS DATA

Your business data.
A world of
possibility.

You’ve spent years building your business. Your data could be ready for its next chapter.

Dato buys eligible business datasets, de-identifies and prepares them, and licenses them to hyperscalers and AI companies.

Explore your data’s potential ↗
For businesses with 3+ years of operations and more than 10 employees.

EXPLORE YOUR DATA’S POTENTIAL

Unlock the value
of your data.

Tell us a little about your business. No datasets needed.

What happens next?

Dato reviews your overview and follows up at your work email to discuss suitability, data rights and any further details needed. Any valuation, contract and secure data transfer come later.

Please submit descriptions only. We will agree a secure transfer process separately if the opportunity progresses.

HOW IT WORKS

Here’s how it works.

Explore the process ↗
STEP 01

Tell us about your business.

Share a few details about your business and the types of data you hold. Start with an overview, not a data transfer.

STEP 02

We send you a mutual NDA.

We send a mutual non-disclosure agreement for both parties to review and sign before sharing confidential details.

STEP 03

Find out what your data is worth.

We review your dataset’s quality, relevance and rights to assess its potential value. Any offer depends on that review.

STEP 04

We send you a data contract.

If there’s a fit, we send an agreement outlining the data scope, permitted uses, protections and payment terms for your review.

STEP 05

We de-identify your data.

We prepare the agreed dataset and apply appropriate de-identification methods and safeguards to reduce privacy risk. De-identification cannot guarantee that re-identification is impossible.

STEP 06

Get paid for your data.

Receive payment for the agreed dataset according to the milestones and terms in your signed contract.

EXPLORE THE OPPORTUNITY

Find out what your
data could be worth.

The data your business creates could become a new source of revenue.

Use the sliders to explore an illustrative value range based on your team size, business tools and operating history. Then tell us about your data so we can assess the opportunity.

A real valuation takes a closer look at your dataset’s quality, historical depth, rights, privacy risks and relevance to potential buyers.

The calculator is an example, not a formal valuation or purchase offer. Any offer follows a dataset review and agreed terms. Country affects the illustrative estimate.

YOUR BUSINESS, AT A GLANCE

Illustrative data value

up to $100,000

Example estimate, subject to dataset review. This is not an offer or a prediction of payment.

How this example is calculated

The estimate uses employee milestones at 0, 20, 50, 100 and 150 people, interpolated with business tools and years of operation. Tools contribute up to 12 at 100 or fewer employees and up to 16 above 100; history contributes from 3 to 10 years. US estimates use a 1.00 factor, Canada and Europe 0.75, and Other 0.30. Figures are rounded to the nearest $1,000; the starting inputs show an upper estimate, and 150+ employees show an open-ended range. Actual value depends on the dataset, rights, quality, privacy risk and buyer demand.

Your business meets the initial criteria.

The next step is a review of your dataset and rights.

Privacy & data use

Start with a conversation.

Inquiry forms collect your name, work email, company, phone number, employee count, operating history and the information you choose to share so Dato can assess and respond to your inquiry. Do not submit datasets, personal information about others, confidential records, or sensitive information.

Submissions are stored by the website operator. Dataset transfers, permitted uses, retention, security measures and licensing terms must be separately reviewed and agreed before any data is shared. De-identification reduces risk but cannot guarantee that re-identification is impossible.

Use the Contact form to request access, correction or deletion of inquiry information. Production hosting, retention periods and any service providers should be reviewed and documented by the operator before launch.
